Finland’s Yahaha Studios has raised $50 million in a new funding round. The platform provides both developers and players the ability to build, publish, host, and operate 3D interactive multiplayer games. Building upon three previous rounds of fundraising, the newest influx of capital will be used to further develop the platform, a portion of which includes a metaverse game creation tool, which it plans to launch in early 2022. To date, Yahaha has raised a total of $81 million.
Founded in 2020 by experienced Unity gaming engine veterans Chris Zhu (CEO), Pengfei Zhang (COO), and Hao Min (CTO), Yahaha puts the power of game creation in the hands of players and developers alike. The platform offers an open and modular set of online services, all aimed at providing the ability to distribute creations across all platforms and connect with other gamers and game creators.
